Marvel is the most popular franchise in the world. Which is great, but in a market oversaturated with Marvel movies, TV shows and other things, it makes it difficult for a mobile game like Marvel Strike Force to stand out.

To carve out our own distinct corner of the Marvel Universe, we decided to focus on the most unspectacular guy the game had to offer. An entry level character so unimpressive his name is just “SHIELD Medic.”

He was introduced through a launch spot that garnered 77M views on YouTube, which led to a sequel that saw Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as Deadpool. Even so, in a universe filled with heroes, gods, and mutants, it was the powerless but well-intentioned SHIELD Medic that fans fell in love with.

Motivational posters and a 15 episode social series followed, but the ultimate validation came when SHIELD Medic became canon, joining the broader Marvel Universe in an official Marvel comic.
